Malaysia has implemented Global Minimum Tax (“GMT”) effective 1 January 2025, marking a major shift on how large Multinational Enterprise (“MNE”) groups are taxed.

With the release of specific guideline on Domestic Top-up Tax (“DTT”) and Frequently Asked Questions in February 2026, Malaysian Constituent Entities within an in-scope MNE group should now gear up for their first DTT filing.
