An exclusive event hosted by RSM International on Monday night celebrated the success of 36 National Champions from the United Kingdom in the European Business Awards, sponsored by RSM International 2013/14 programme.

The evening event, held at the Langham Hotel in London, gave the National Champions the chance to network and share business success stories, as well as to hear guest speakers including previous winner, Charles Morgan, owner of one of the UK’s most successful privately owned car manufacturers – The Morgan Motor Company.

Now in its seventh year, the European Business Awards recognise and reward excellence, best practice and innovation in companies across the European Union.

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International, the seventh largest global audit, tax and advisory network, commented: “RSM member firms work with growing, dynamic and successful businesses across Europe and beyond. The exceptional business leaders that we celebrated with last night have demonstrated strength and depth of business acumen, backed by passion, entrepreneurialism and innovation. I wish them the very best of luck in the next stage of the Awards programme.”

Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “Our judges were extremely impressed with the standard of entries from the UK this year. Following intensive discussion and debate, they have chosen the best businesses to move forward in the competition.”

The National Champions from the UK will now be included in a 2nd round, where judges will view and score the video entries from all 376 National Champions representing 31 countries across Europe. On 14 January 2014, the Chairman of Judges will announce which 100 extraordinary National Champions will move forward in the competition as Ruban d’Honneur recipients.

Following its success last year, the European Business Awards is additionally running a public video vote for the 2013/14 awards programme. The National Champions from each country that receive the highest number of public votes for their video will become a ‘National Public Champion’. Online voting for National Public Champions runs from 09:00 CET on Monday 11 November 2013 until 17:00 CET on Thursday 2 January 2014. The National Public Champion will then be part of a second public voting phase early next year where the victor will win the title of overall European Public Champion.

Overall winners from the Ruban d’Honneur recipients and the public video vote will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony in May 2014.
