RSM, the seventh largest global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms, has collected the prestigious Editor’s Special Award for Global Initiative of the Year at the International Accounting Bulletin annual awards. The awards ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in London on 14th March 2013.

The Editor’s Special Award was conceived specifically to recognise the outstanding achievement of the RSM network for its global initiative - RSM World Day – which was praised for being a unique and powerful cross-network initiative that enhanced both employee and client engagement.

The judges unanimously agreed that RSM World Day deserved extra-special recognition and were immensely impressed with the scope and achievements of the campaign. They highlighted it as a shining example of how to successfully connect independent member firms in 70 countries under a common vision and set of values.

RSM World Day brought together RSM staff from around the world to take part in a wide variety of both external and internal communications activities. These included national and international advertising and PR, social and business events, volunteer and charity work and staff team building activities.

The IAB Awards are designed to celebrate achievements in the international accounting network arena and highlight individuals, businesses and networks that have moved the industry forward.

Jean Stephens, Chief Executive of RSM, comments: “I am hugely proud of what the network achieved in the name of RSM World Day and it is an honour for this to be recognised by the International Accounting Bulletin. Around the world staff embraced the inaugural RSM World Day with passion and vigour. Their activities brought us closer together but, more importantly, the scale and variety of charity, community and volunteer work done in celebration of RSM has improved the lives of others all around the world.”
