RSM, the seventh largest global network of independent audit, tax and advisory firms, are sponsors of the IFRS Foundation Conference in Amsterdam from 27-28 June 2013.

The conference brings together leaders in financial reporting from the private sector, regulatory bodies and members of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), as well as accounting professionals and others with an interest in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

The conference provides a unique opportunity for delegates to be updated by members and staff of the IASB on its active projects as well as on its future plans. The keynote speech will be given by Klas Knot, President, De Nederlandsche Bank (the Dutch Cenrtal Bank). IFRS Foundation and IASB presenters will include Hans Hoogervorst (the IASB’s Chairman), IASB members—Stephen Cooper, Philippe Danjou, Martin Edelmann, Patrick Finnegan and Takatsugu Ochi; as well as a number of senior IASB technical staff and other IFRS experts.

Technical break-out sessions conducted by IASB members and their technical staff will provide a forum for discussing major projects on the IASB’s active agenda in more detail.

In addition, pre-conference special interest sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to learn from the experiences of those who have already implemented or are preparing to implement the main new IFRS. A separate investor-focused IFRS update session will also be provided for investment professionals and analysts.

Bob Dohrer, Global Leader for Quality and Risk at RSM, comments: “There is a growing need for global consistency in accounting standards as the volume of international trade grows and businesses seek to mitigate accounting risks. Conferences like this are important to ensuring that IFRS is adopted widely and implemented properly.”
