London, 5 October 2017: RSM, the world’s sixth largest network of independent audit, tax and consulting firms, has been recognised as the Network of the Year at this year’s The Accountant and International Accounting Bulletin Awards.

The Network of the Year Award criteria includes the demonstration of profitable growth strategies and recognition by the industry as a reputable brand that consistently delivers high quality professional services.

Specifically, the judges commented on the success of the network’s new global brand, and the achievements over the past two years that have resulted in a stronger, better positioned and more understood network. They also praised RSM’s focus on its foundation of quality whilst at the same time building new areas of strength.

This is the second time RSM has been awarded the Network of the Year, having previously won in 2014.

RSM has performed strongly over the last 12 months, reflected in the network’s 2016 year-end financial results. The network reported an impressive increase in fee income (7.6%) with over 70% of RSM member firms reporting growth.

Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM, said:

"The past two years have been pivotal in RSM's history. Following the successful launch of our unified name and brand, our firms are working on embedding RSM in their markets and bringing The Power of Being Understood and the values this upholds to their clients and communities."

We knew 2017 was going to present challenges for middle market businesses. As our network evolves with changing times, we remain committed to ensuring we are continually raising our standards in order to provide a world-class service to our clients, wherever their business maybe.

We are thankful to both The Accountant and The International Accounting Bulletin for this recognition, and know that each of our members across the world are proud to share in this success.”

Now in its sixth year, The Accountant & International Accounting Bulletin Awards bring together prominent industry professionals to celebrate excellence in the accountancy profession. A gala dinner was held on the evening of 4 October 2017, at the Tower Hotel, City of London, to announce and celebrate the winners.
