Incorporated Societies – the impact of the proposed Bill

This event has finished.

Thursday 19 May 4.30pm - 7pm

The Exposure Draft:  Incorporated Societies Bill is currently available for review and submissions.  This proposed Bill will essentially result in a complete rewrite of the legislation covering our 23,000+ incorporated societies in New Zealand.

We are delighted that Maria Clarke, expert not-for-profit lawyer and member of the Law Commissions’ reference group that reviewed the existing 1908 Incorporated Societies Act will join us to highlight some of the more significant and interesting areas of the proposed legislation.  This will be an opportunity to discuss how this may impact incorporated societies you may be a member of.  It will also raise issues with the Bill about which you may wish to make a submission.
