Tony Oliver
Managing Partner, Auckland

Tony Oliver is the Managing Partner at the Auckland office of RSM New Zealand. He began his career with a mid-tier firm before moving to one of the big four accounting firms in Auckland which gave him an insight into high level accounting and helped him to develop an in-depth understanding of client processes and systems. 

Taking up the opportunity to work closer to home, Tony moved to a smaller, more client focussed firm based in Manukau, where he quickly progressed to partner. 

Tony developed a keen interest in business restructuring, so his clients have all benefited immensely from his wealth of knowledge by developing a business model that best suits their future goals with a particular focus on securing clients wealth and minimising their tax obligations.  As part of his client approach, Tony is also passionate about ensuring his clients have a succession plan in place and has created and implemented these for many clients.  A firm believer in regular management and tax reporting for clients, Tony has seen many local businesses grow from strength to strength through having good internal processes.   

Over the years, Tony has had the opportunity to work with numerous clients across many different industries including construction and related industries, manufacturing, franchising, transport and retail, as well as advising high wealth individuals. 

In his spare time, Tony is an active member in the community. He has previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees, and was the treasurer for Our Lady Star of the Sea school in Howick.  Tony is an active sportsman and most notably has represented Auckland and Counties Manukau at a senior level in soccer. 

Tony completed his Associate Chartered Accountant degree at Auckland Technical Institute, became a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and achieved his Public Practice Certificate in 2003.  He is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a professional association of Chartered Accountants.
