Wei Chen 陳偉
Partner
Wei Chen is a Partner at the Auckland office of RSM New Zealand and has been with the firm since 2004
Born and bred in Nanjing, China, Wei worked in the importing, exporting, retailing and wholesaling of food, apparels, timber, wool and tools. This career spanned some 15 years and included running his own businesses in China, Russia and Serbia (ex-Yugoslavia).
Wei moved to New Zealand in 2002. Taking the opportunity for a career change, he began studying for his accounting qualifications and was welcomed to the RSM team in 2004. Since then he has been instrumental in developing and leading the Asian accounting group at our Auckland office.
During his time at RSM, Wei has developed keen interests in business planning, business process optimising, accounting and operational system development and implementation (e.g. inventory management, procurement management). He has also been involved in a number of mergers and acquisitions in recent years. As a former businessman, Wei sees regular management and tax reporting as important tools for clients and this has seen him help many local businesses grow from strength to strength through their development of good internal processes and systems.
Wei has a varied client base and has had the opportunity to work with numerous clients across many different industries including property developments and investments, construction, professional services, retail and wholesale, and hospitality.

- Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Manukau Institute of Technology
- Master of Professional Business Studies (Tax), Auckland University of Technology
- Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
With a real passion for business, and fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin), Wei enjoys using his own personal experiences to help guide his clients to be the successful business owners they want to be.
