Introduction to the listing requirements in South Africa

Organisations in South Africa who wish to list on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) will need to consider the listing requirements set out in the King Code on corporate governance. This code has actually been influential globally and the JSE is the first stock exchange to incorporate the move towards integrated reporting.

The JSE is currently the largest stock exchange in Africa. It is  also the first emerging market and stock exchange globally to introduce an exchange-sponsored sustainability index, measuring companies on indicators related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices.
