Junior Digital Marketer

We are currently looking for a  Junior Digital Marketer for our Johannesburg office. This role falls within the Marketing Department and reports to the Marketing Manager. The role will be split between general marketing assistance and digital marketing for RSM South Africa and its subsidiary brands.

Below is a guideline of the role and responsibilities, qualifications and requirements.  

Role and responsibilities

Digital marketing:

  • To build online brand awareness
  • Create and optimise online adverts through Google Ads and social media 
  • Drive engagement on all social media platforms to increase brand awareness and following
  • Manage the content strategy, including copywriting and website updates 
  • Management and regular updating of website SEO
  • Plan and monitor the ongoing presence on social media and website in order to grow the market base 
  • Stay abreast of online marketing trends and keep strategies up to date 
  • Assess the current digital marketing strategy and Identify areas for improvement
  • To monitor, measure and report on digital marketing initiatives
  • Navigate and dive into Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and other digital analytic tools to extract and build on performance intelligence

General marketing

Assist the Marketing Manager with general marketing activities, including but not limited to:

  • Managing RSVPs for client and staff events
  • General event assistance including creation of name badges and event set-up
  • Research and sourcing of branded items, gifts and venues
  • Internal marketing initiatives for staff

Qualifications and experience

  • Completed Marketing Degree or IMM diploma
  • An additional qualification specialising in digital marketing would be advantageous 
  • 2 to 3 years of Marketing experience, which must include exposure to digital marketing elements

Skill and competencies

  • Excellent social media management skills
  • Excellent professional communication skills (Face-to-face, written and telephonically)
  • Understanding of search engine optimisation
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). 
  • Good administration
  • Ability to produce results under pressure
  • Attention to detail 
  • Communication & Interpersonal skills
  • Sense of urgency
