Manager: Audit Staff and Resourcing

RSM South Africa is seeking a Manager: Audit Staff and Resourcing within the Assurance department. This role is key to supporting the external audit by identifying and recruiting high-quality candidates and by managing the full life – cycle of Trainee Accountants.

SAICA training office administrator (Cape Town and Johannesburg)

  • Manages the administrative lifecycle of trainee accountants, ensuring compliance with the SAICA regulations.
  • Administering SAICA training contracts, including registering new annual trainee intakes, processing contract changes, and managing registrations for the training office.
  • Acting as the primary administrator for the Training Contract Management System
    (TCMS) and Electronic Assessment Tool (EAT), ensuring trainee data is accurate, reports are updated, and documents are closed.
  • Ensuring all trainees are registered, tracking competencies and core hours, and
    assisting in the preparation for SAICA accreditation audits.
  • Ensuring that all trainees are submitting their Learning Outcome Reviews (LORs) timeously and reviewed by the reviewers.
  • Arranging for payment of IRBA registration fees and annual levies and ensuring the 
    timely payment of training contract fees.
  • Dealing with day-to-day queries from trainees, reviewers, and evaluators.
  • Extracting weekly/monthly reports to track trainee progress.
  • Support to the Training Officer.

Talent acquisition

  • Focus on sourcing and hiring CA(SA) audit trainee accountants.
  • Registering and attending university career days.
  • Managing the full talent lifecycle, sourcing, screening, interviewing, placement of candidates, performance management.
  • Maintaining accurate candidate records.
  • Onboarding of candidates.

Audit planning and coordinator

  • Provide support in the planning, organising, and co-ordination of planning trainee accountants on assignments on resource planning software.
  • Administer and process leave requests, ensure all applications are completed, and
    accurate in accordance with company policies, provide guidance on leave entitlements and procedures, track and monitor leave usage and reporting on trends, auditing of leave recons on an annual basis.
  • Administer and process overtime, ensure all documentation is complete, and accurate in accordance with company policies.
  • Administer the audit department payroll monthly changes to the Payroll Manager.
  • Approval of weekly timesheets and disbursements of trainee accountants.
  • Ensure performance ratings of trainee accountants are completed in accordance with company policies and feedback is provided. Initiate performance discussions and monitor.
  • Administer the secondment programme, offer guidance and support to parties involved, assist trainee accountants in securing visas for the host country, co-ordinate flight arrangements, complete and submit billing to the Head of Audit.
  • Operational assistance and support to the Head of Audit.

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant Administration / HR qualification.
  • Experience in recruitment, especially in the Auditing environment, would be beneficial.
  • Experience in a SAICA training office environment and/or a similar role would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of the SAICA article structures and Training Regulations would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with GreatSoft, SAICA EAT, and TCMS systems would be beneficial.
  • Computer literacy (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
