Why RSM South Africa Feels Like Home

When I joined RSM South Africa, I knew I was stepping into a firm with a strong reputation, but I didn’t yet realise how deeply it would align with my values, support my growth, and shape my journey.

Choosing RSM wasn’t just about finding a place to complete my articles; it was about finding a place where I could thrive. As a medium-sized firm, RSM offers the best of both worlds: the professionalism and global reach of a large firm, with the personal touch and mentorship of a close-knit team. From the beginning, I felt welcomed, valued, and supported.

One of the most memorable moments in my early days was my first audit assignment. I was flown to the Eastern Cape, a province I had never visited before, and it was also my first time flying. That experience was more than just exciting; it was symbolic of the journey I was embarking on with RSM. It showed me that this firm invests in its people and trusts them with real responsibility from the start.

While preparing for my IAC exams, RSM went above and beyond. They covered the full cost of the Gauteng Board Course and IAC SAICA exam fees. That kind of support isn’t just financial, it’s emotional and motivational. It reminded me that I’m part of a firm that truly cares about my success.
Next month, I’ll begin my tax secondment with RSM, and I couldn’t be more excited. This opportunity will allow me to broaden my skill set, gain exposure to a different side of the profession, and work with new teams. Secondments like this are one of the many benefits of being at RSM, they help you grow, adapt, and become a well-rounded professional.

From my first flight to the Eastern Cape to the upcoming tax secondment, every step of my journey with RSM has been filled with growth, support, and purpose. The firm’s culture, values, and people have made it more than just a workplace; it’s a place where I feel inspired, challenged, and at home.
