BID CONSULTANT

The Bid Consultant will play a pivotal role in driving high-quality proposal submissions across multiple lines of service within the firm (Audit, Tax, Advisory, and Risk). The role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and brings strong experience in managing public sector tenders, bid processes, and proposal governance. This position supports the firm’s growth agenda by ensuring excellence, consistency, and agility in all client pursuits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bid Management and Coordination
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end bid and proposal processes for cross-line opportunities.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and approvals to ensure high-quality, compliant, and timely submissions.
- Support bid teams in structuring and developing compelling proposal content tailored to client needs.
Public Sector Expertise - Drive compliance with public sector procurement requirements (e.g. competency in completion of SBD documentation, National Treasury regulations, SCM guidelines).
- Guide teams in interpreting and responding to public tender documents, ensuring full technical and administrative compliance.
- a repository of public sector templates, proposal collateral and credentials.
Cross-Service Collaboration - Facilitate collaboration across audit, advisory, risk, and tax teams to produce integrated client solutions.
- Support partner and director engagement across service lines to strengthen go-to-market alignment.
- Develop a shared approach to opportunity tracking, bid planning, and client intelligence.
Quality, Governance and Continuous Improvement - Ensure that all bid submissions meet brand, quality, and risk management standards.
- Maintain and continuously improve bid templates, trackers, and playbooks.
- Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and debriefs to drive bid office maturity.
Agility and Pressure Management
- Operate effectively under tight deadlines with multiple concurrent bids.
- Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and proactive problem solving.
- Maintain composure and leadership during high-pressure submissions periods.
Online Tender Tracking
- Proficient in analysing and interpreting online business opportunities to determine alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Skilled in designing and implementing structured process for tracking and managing online tenders effectively.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in bid/proposal management within an audit firm environment or professional services environment.
- Proven track record in managing public sector tenders (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of audit, risk, or professional services value propositions.
- Excellent project management, writing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Suite.
