As of 1 January 2026: three new partners join the RSM Assurance practice

RSM is plea­sed to sha­re that Michiel Buiteman, Albert van Wijk and Marcel Baks will join the RSM Ne­ther­lands part­ner group as of 1 Ja­nu­a­ry 2026.

Michiel Buiteman has been wor­king as an ac­coun­tant within the Fi­nan­ci­al Ser­vi­ces prac­ti­ce at RSM in Am­ster­dam sin­ce 2021. With ex­ten­si­ve ex­pe­rien­ce in ser­ving fi­nan­ci­al in­sti­tu­ti­ons, he leads RSM's Fi­nan­ci­al Ser­vi­ces prac­ti­ce in the Ne­ther­lands. Mi­chiel and his team sup­port clients in are­as such as as­set ma­na­ge­ment, pri­va­te equi­ty, ven­tu­re ca­pi­tal, pay­ment plat­forms and fi­nan­cing, and pro­vi­de ad­vi­ce on in­ter­nal con­trols and fi­nan­ci­al re­por­ting. As both a char­te­red ac­coun­tant and cer­ti­fied IT au­di­tor, he un­der­stands the com­plexi­ty of high­ly IT-dri­ven en­vi­ron­ments and the spe­ci­fic laws and re­gu­la­ti­ons governing the fi­nan­ci­al sec­tor. He is al­so a mem­ber of the Glo­bal Fi­nan­ci­al Lea­der­ship team of RSM In­ter­na­ti­o­nal.

Al­bert van Wijk has been with RSM sin­ce 2019, wor­king at our Eind­ho­ven of­fi­ce whe­re he co-leads the au­dit de­part­ment. Sin­ce 2021, he has been res­pon­si­ble for qua­li­ty ma­na­ge­ment and tech­ni­cal standards within the As­su­ran­ce prac­ti­ce of RSM Ne­ther­lands. With mo­re than 30 ye­ars of ex­pe­rien­ce, Al­bert brings both broad prac­ti­cal and tech­ni­cal ex­per­ti­se. In ad­di­ti­on, he ser­ves as a se­ni­or lec­tu­rer in Au­dit & As­su­ran­ce at Maas­tricht Uni­ver­si­ty (MU­RA) and as an exa­mi­ner for the In­ter­na­ti­o­nal Exe­cu­ti­ve Mas­ter in Au­di­ting (IE­MA) at VU Am­ster­dam, Maas­tricht Uni­ver­si­ty and Flo­ri­da Sta­te Uni­ver­si­ty.

Mar­cel Baks has been wor­king at RSM in Rot­ter­dam sin­ce 2021 and, with mo­re than 35 ye­ars of ex­pe­rien­ce in au­dit, com­pi­la­ti­on and tax en­ga­ge­ments, is a true all-round ad­vi­ser. Mar­cel spe­ci­a­li­ses in the au­dit and ad­vi­so­ry of (in­ter­na­ti­o­nal) com­pa­nies in who­lesa­le, con­struc­ti­on, ma­nu­fac­tu­ring and pro­fes­si­o­nal ser­vi­ces.
