René van Bruggen

Director

As Business Valuator, René is responsible for all valuation assignments within RSM Netherlands and international contact within RSM worldwide He is involved in a wide variety of acquisition and valuation issues.

René graduated as Chartered Accountant at the University of Amsterdam in 1997, after which he joined RSM in the Audit practice. In addition to his audit work, he completed his studies to become a Register Valuator (RV) at Rotterdam School of Management in 2001, followed by the Young Management Program at Nijenrode University. From 2003, René worked as a Business Valuator at RSM Evaluent B.V. where he was appointed Director in 2007.  

René was decorated Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau in 2017. Additionally, in 2019, René received the F&O Award for Business Valuator of the Year at the Merger & Acquisition Annual Conference.

René has served for many years on the board of the Netherlands Institute for Registered Valuators (NIRV), in addition he is active as an asessor on the examination committee of the NIRV.

René has over 30 years of experience in audit & accounting and over 20 years of experience in Valuation. His specialties are business valuations, valuation in mergers and acquisitions, valuations in litigation, Purchase Price Allocation & Impairment, financial modeling and cross-border valuations.
