The merger of chartered accounting firms RSM and Nexia New Zealand’s Auckland operations will deliver a stronger, mid-market offering in accounting and business solutions.

Both parties see the advantage of building the RSM network in New Zealand, to deliver to the local market and via the RSM Network to our internationally active clients. Globally, RSM is the sixth largest accounting network in the world.

“As we go from strength to strength globally, it’s important we build our local network accordingly. This merger is an example of how we are progressing in this area,” says Craig Fisher, Chairman, RSM in New Zealand.

The merger will see Nexia Auckland become part of the local RSM operation.  The accounting, advisory and auditing services of both businesses will merge and operate as RSM from 1 April 2016.

Nexia is a well-respected local firm and their staff will complement and strengthen the RSM team.

Joining the existing RSM business services and tax partners Grant Hally, Liz Groenewegen, Colin Wilson, Lloyd Kirby and Lyle Irwin will be Nexia partners, Charles Worth, Dean Stevens, Robert Willis, Steve Young and Tony Oliver.  In conjunction with the merger, RSM is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicola Hammond to partner.

Audit partners Kumar Aravinda and Elaine Yong will join the current RSM audit partners Craig Fisher, Jason Stinchcombe, Colin Henderson and Steve Hayes.

“We are committed to strategically growing our team of talented professionals, enhancing our practice areas and expanding our market presence, all with the end goal of better serving our client needs,” says Charles Worth, Managing Partner, Nexia Auckland.

“Joining RSM’s established network allows us to do all three,” says Mr Worth.

“We share a similar view on the importance of having a strong culture, delivering the highest level of client service, and being involved members of the community.” Says Grant Hally, Managing Partner of RSM New Zealand.

This merger allows us to further strengthen our capabilities locally for the benefit of our clients,” says Craig Fisher, Chairman, RSM in New Zealand.

RSM in New Zealand will now have 17 partners and more than 120 staff, will continue to be based in Auckland but will continue to service clients throughout New Zealand and support the NZ CA network.
