Background

RSM Australia’s Fraud & Forensic Services team was engaged to provide / facilitate a full-day employee training session via a virtual classroom environment for a client in the audit industry. The topic of the training was ‘how to conduct fraud investigations’. The purpose of the course was to help participants acquire the practical skills needed to conduct successful investigations.

Our tailored approach included:

  • Briefings with key stakeholders to understand the training requirements.
  • Developed a training presentation and slide pack in line with better practice and RSM team expertise of the subject matter.
  • Distributed training material to participants ahead of presentation.
  • Delivered full-day virtual classroom training session to internal auditors and forensic auditors.

Challenges, Issues and Risks

  • Ensuring the training presentation was engaging, specific and relevant to the individuals and the organisation receiving the training, of which RSM’s Fraud & Forensic Services team achieved.
  • Streamlining the volume of information available for this training topic to the required full-day training session.
  • Facilitation of a ‘smooth-running’ classroom in a virtual environment. This involved forming a ‘back-up’ plan should there have been significant buffering or other technical issues.

Outcomes

  • Delivery of a full-day online classroom training course by three facilitators from RSM’s Fraud & Forensic Services team.
  • Provision of a complete copy of the Course Materials from the training session to the client (including any facilitator guides, participant guides, handouts, solutions, PowerPoint presentation and other audio / visual resources).
  • Opportunity for course participants to interact with facilitators throughout and at the end of the training session for any questions regarding the course content.
