2025 is shaping up to be quite a roller coaster year.
With extreme weather events, trade wars, an election, and even a new pope, the news cycle has been relentless, making it challenging to keep track of important updates amidst the chaos.
For those of us living in regional Australia, it's tempting to tune it all out and enjoy the peace and quiet. To make it easier, the team here at Wagga Wagga has hand picked some insights that we think you’ll find relevant.
It has been a busy few months in the Wagga office, with many things to celebrate.
We are proud of our achievements, including significant promotions, new team members, graduations, milestones, and new babies!
As we start the 2025-26 financial year, we hope it brings good fortune.
We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and find the contents useful and informative.
Best regards,
The team at RSM in Wagga Wagga
LEADERSHIP CHANGES
This year has been a time of change, both for the world and for RSM Australia. On June 30, we bid goodbye to our Chief Executive Partner, Jamie O’Rourke.
Jamie began his career with RSM 34 years ago in the regional office of Goulburn before moving to Sydney in 1997. As our national leader for the past nine years, Jamie guided us through a period of significant growth and change, including managing the disruptions and challenges brought about by the pandemic. Throughout his tenure, he maintained and strengthened RSM’s strong presence in regional Australia, stating, “While we continue to grow across all areas, our regional footprint is unique and integral to our national identity.”
We are pleased to announce Robert Miano as our new Chief Executive Partner, effective July 1, 2025.
With over 25 years of experience in audit and corporate advisory work, Robert is well-equipped to lead RSM Australia into the future.

In community news, Adam Whicker recently represented RSM at the MTC Gold Cup Carnival as the face for the event. In a commitment to giving back, RSM also sponsored a charity ball, "A Night for Eden," aiming to raise funds for a local family facing the challenges of childhood cancer.
Furthermore, RSM took part in the Lockhart Seniors Festival, where we offered valuable information on transitioning to retirement and exploring aged care options.
We also want to shout out our Restructuring and Recovery team, who have had an extremely busy quarter. Working with the Port Macquarie office to support regional NSW and regional VIC, they have helped individuals and organisations in managing financial pressures, addressing operational challenges, and navigating growth issues. Their support includes debt management, strategic restructuring advice, and solutions for not-for-profits and individuals facing bankruptcy.
