RSM, one of the largest mid-tier accounting firms in Australia, has appointed three new partners and five new principals, bringing the total count of partners to 96 and principals to 35.

The new partners are:

  • David McArthur, Financial Services, Adelaide
  • Patrick McMaster, Business Solutions, Melbourne

Ross Paterson

Ross joined RSM in 2000. Ross provides expert knowledge and advice to small- and medium-sized enterprises on a range of issues including taxation and planning, budgeting and cash flow management, succession and business planning, asset protection, and business restructuring. He specialises in agribusiness, mining services and engineering and transport services.

Tim Pittaway

Tim joined RSM in 2004. Tim is an audit and assurance services expert, specialising in internal audit, risk management, compliance audit, greenhouse and energy audit and assurance, market audit and alliance audit services. Working with both public and private sectors, he has assisted clients in the energy, utilities, regulatory, mining, infrastructure, health and public transport industries.

Katie Timms

Katie joined RSM in 2005. Katie has significant experience in all areas of self-managed superannuation funds, including administration and compliance, asset acquisition and tax saving strategies and estate planning. She provides advice and assistance to trustees, accountants and financial advisors, and heads up the national RSM Superannuation committee. Katie provides regular technical updates for the Institute of Public Accountants, and has presented for the Tax Institute of Australia, Legalwise and TV Ed.

Murray Calder

Murray joined RSM in 2005. Murray specialises in accounting and taxation solutions for small- to medium-sized businesses and high net-worth individuals, including structure advice on trusts, companies, partnerships, superannuation funds and individuals. His other services include: assisting businesses to grow through long-term strategies: representing clients with the ATO in the context of reviews, audits and other matters; cash flow management strategies; sourcing funding options; GST, fringe benefits tax and capital gains tax planning strategies; and preparation of financial statements and income tax returns.

Jed Carson

Jed joined RSM in 2010. Jed provides business, taxation and superannuation services to small- to medium-sized enterprises. Having spent all of his professional life in the countryside, Jed’s areas of expertise include assisting business in the various areas of agriculture and aquaculture. In recent years, Jed has worked on self-managed superannuation funds and business succession planning and strategies.

Chris Jas

Chris joined RSM in 2005. Chris provides quality advice across a broad spectrum of financial planning topics, with a special interest in investment strategy advice and ongoing portfolio management services, retirement planning strategies, superannuation planning, pre-retirement planning incorporating wealth creation and gearing strategies, personal risk insurances, estate planning and wealth transfer.

David McArthur

David joined RSM in 2004. David has extensive experience in advising retirees and wealth accumulators, providing tax-effective strategic advice to ensure his clients achieve their financial objectives within their chosen risk parameters. While David advises in all areas of financial planning, he specialises in superannuation, retirement planning, share portfolio construction and management and insurance advice.

Patrick McMaster

Patrick joined RSM in 2013. Patrick works closely with business owners and management to understand their requirements and provide timely and efficient business solutions. Patrick has experience across a number of industries including property, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, health and professional services. His expertise includes business and family group structuring and asset protection matters, taxation advice, cash flow management budgeting and analysis, profitability and growth strategies, superannuation planning, financing requirements and financial reporting requirements.
