New premises offering world-class technology better equip RSM in Perth to serve divergent, digitally-savvy clients, whose needs increasingly straddle multiple service lines.

To better cater for diverse client demands and create a truly collaborative workplace, the Perth office of leading accounting firm RSM, have relocated from their longstanding WA-headquarters in late September.

The long-awaited move to the Exchange Tower (ET) at 2 The Esplanade, coincides with the global repositioning of the RSM brand, now the sixth largest international accounting network. RSM in Perth has a new address

The RSM brand is also about to become a permanent landmark over the city’s skyline. Via an exclusive signage arrangement, the RSM logo will be displayed on the ET building.

RSM founded in Perth in 1922 has been synonymous with supporting the WA business community. Con Paoliello, Managing Partner – Perth, says the firm’s move to the 40-storey ET tower, means RSM can better deliver an ever-widening range of professional services within a truly digital age.

In stark contrast with the move to 8 St George Terrace back in 1989, when mobile phones were still a novelty, fax machines dominated client engagement, and the ‘internet-of-things’ was unheard of, he says the ET relocation underpins the better delivery of services.

“Unlike 28 years ago, when tax compliance and accounting were our core offering, corporate advisory services - including cybersecurity and fraud and forensic services - are now a significant part of our business nationally, and we wanted our relocation to reflect these new dynamics,” says Mr Paoliello.

World-class technology drives better client engagement

As the fourth capital city office to significantly upgrade its offices in as many years, the Perth office relocation is expected to improve both staff productivity and client engagement.

World-class technology incorporated within the RSM office includes virtual meeting facilities in all meeting rooms, secure network throughout the building, and flexible spaces that convert quickly to enable snap meetings. Wellbeing and end-of-trip facilities within the ET building, including a dedicated wellness room, gym access, and more flexible workspaces, help to satisfy the needs of the firm’s modern day workforce.

RSM in Perth has a new address“Rather than do away with reception, as many of today’s CBD offices have done, we’ve decided to enhance the attention visitors to our new offices will receive through client concierge facilities that are designed to deliver a previously unmatched customer service experience for a professional services firm,” says Mr Paoliello.

The exponential growth experienced by the WA headquarters in the last 30 years reflects the firm’s progressive expansion Australia-wide. While RSM had 29 Partners nationally back in 1989, today there are 29 Partners and Principals in Perth alone - and 142 Partners and Principals nationally.

“We’ve addressed the difficulty staff have experienced working collaboratively, especially with clients increasingly engaging across multiple service lines, by reducing the number of floors from seven to three, and the number of offices from 90 to 33,” explains Mr Paoliello.

Open plan workspaces, large staff breakouts, perimeter offices and meeting/board rooms across the three levels will make for a more dynamic workplace. Specially designed collaboration areas and media pods incorporating wireless presentation and whiteboard technology will allow both staff and clients to collaboratively work in real time either on premises or virtually.
