Liyamaria Thomas

Liyamaria Thomas is an undergraduate in the RSM Geraldton team.

She is currently studying a Bachelor of Accounting while working at RSM Australia. Liyamaria is passionate about helping clients understand their finances, utilising deductions to maximise refunds and minimise payments.

Before joining RSM, Liyamaria worked at a smaller accounting firm where she assisted her senior team by preparing tax returns and business activity statements. In her previous role, she made a notable difference for a client by negotiating with the ATO to create a payment plan for a large debt, alleviating the client's financial stress due to extenuating circumstances.

"I enjoy helping clients understand their finances and maximise their refunds. It's rewarding to make a real difference." 

Outside of work, Liyamaria has a strong love for rabbits, having owned 21 at once! This experience taught her how to manage multiple challenges simultaneously, as anyone familiar with rabbits knows they can be quite a handful.
