Business Consulting Senior Manager Wendy Chua’s story as an IT veteran who successfully made a career switch to become an internal auditor was featured in a recent Straits Times article.

After 20 years in the IT industry, Wendy decided to undergo a six-month professional conversion programme (PCP) for internal auditors as she sought career growth opportunities in another sector where she could leverage her skills and knowledge.

She noted that internal auditors today have to understand technologies, such as artificial intelligence and robotic process automation, in order to advise businesses on their implementation.

The PCP that Wendy underwent seeks to reskill mid-career individuals for a new role in internal audit and includes structured on-the-job training.

Wendy also attended a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants centenary gala dinner where Minister for Manpower Josephine Teo launched a new PCP for management accountants.

The Straits Times article ‘Finance courses offer opportunity for career change’ was published on 25 April 2019.
