The Federal Government recently announced a $52.9 million funding boost to provide further financial support for residential aged care providers during the COVID-19 crisis.

COVID-19COVID-19 Aged Care Support Program

The Aged Care Support Program worth  $52.9 million runs over the 2020 and 2021 financial year and supports Aged Care Providers with a grant opportunity that aims to reimburse eligible aged care providers for expenses incurred in managing the direct impacts of COVID-19 on their business.

Providers which meet the required grant criteria can be reimbursed for eligible expenditure on activities such as salary and wages of new and existing staff, contractor’s expenses, purchase or hire of equipment and resources for managing infection control as well as training staff in infection control.

The funding is available for eligible expenditure by providers with one or more COVID-19 infected or isolated residents, staff or care recipients in the period between 24 February 2020 and 31 May 2021.  Applications for funding are available until 31 May 2021.
