As we bid farewell to another financial year, it's the perfect moment to pause and reflect on our journey.
This July marks my three-year milestone at RSM Australia, where my role has developed from a Risk Advisory Partner in Perth to now proudly serving as the National Leader, Government.
Each day, I am reminded of the immense privilege that comes with this role, leading a team of extraordinary people who are a joy to work with. And I am so proud to be part of an organisation that truly lives its values—values that deeply align with my own.
Acknowledging Our Achievements
It was incredibly gratifying to have our approach affirmed in March through the Client Choice Awards. Not only did RSM secure our fifth consecutive win for Best Accounting and Consulting Firm (>$200m), but this year we also proudly claimed the title of Best Provider to Government and Community. It was amazing to have our efforts recognised on the national stage and I am proud of all my colleagues who helped us build relationships based on trust and authenticity, laying the groundwork for our win. RSM's lived values of integrity in everything we do, supporting clients everywhere; and developing and valuing staff are a strong and powerful compass to guide our actions, decisions and interactions with clients and the wider community.

Embracing Flexibility, Agility, and Client Focus
I believe one of the strengths of RSM Australia is our size and capability – we are in the Goldilocks zone - not too big but not too small. As Australia's eighth-largest accounting firm, we possess the necessary resources and capabilities to offer a comprehensive suite of services. While we are experienced - and growing - we are not too big to lose our sense of flexibility, agility and client focus. Overseeing our government services team, I am often heartened to see how our people adapt and respond quickly to changing dynamics and client needs.
Our pragmatic commercial advice and expertise extend across a broad range of areas, including internal audit, risk management, tax advice, corporate finance, sustainability, external audit, and probity. We have also concentrated on developing our offerings in key growth or risk areas, resulting in strong service capability in risk management, cybersecurity, probity and sustainability.
Continuing Our Momentum
Moving forward into FY24, we are eager to build upon our momentum. Living our values is not always easy, but it is right. Our people at RSM Australia, will persist in cultivating self-awareness and upholding a commitment to integrity, supporting our clients and fostering the growth of our people as we progress together.
