The High Impact Partnerships Round 2 grants support carbon abatement in the primary industries and land sector. Funding will be provided for projects that reduce emissions, improve carbon management and deliver additional benefits such as productivity, biodiversity and cultural outcomes.
Grants will be offered for carbon projects using one or more of the following Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) scheme methods:
- Reforestation by environmental or mallee plantings FullCAM method 2024.
- Estimation of soil organic carbon sequestration using measurement and models method.
- Tidal restoration of blue carbon ecosystems method.
- Plantation forestry method.
- Animal effluent management method.
Projects are expected to be innovative in their delivery and to explore ways of delivering co-benefits in addition to carbon abatement.
Grants of between $500,000 and $2 million are available.
Applicants must contribute at least 50% of eligible costs.
Eligible applicants include:
- Farmers and agribusinesses
- Aboriginal landholders/organisations
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Government entities
- Community resource management/conservation groups
- Peak bodies or industry organisations
- Producer associations
- Research institutes
