The Local Digital Priority Projects funding program invests in digital solutions to address specific local economic, business and social priorities across South East Queensland.

The Local Digital Priority Projects funding program invests in digital solutions to address specific local economic, business and social priorities across South East Queensland.
Example projects for digital infrastructure include:
- Public Wi-Fi solutions (including in social housing)
- Connectivity upgrades for Local Governments and businesses (e.g. FTTP, dark fibre or LEOs)
- Carrier neutral digital infrastructure
- Construction of facilities to house digital infrastructure
Example projects for non-infrastructure include:
- Short-term training to address key digital skills shortages (e.g. AI, data analytics and cybersecurity)
- Support (financial or otherwise) for tech startups looking to establish a base in SEQ
- Targeted programs or initiatives to support vulnerable Queenslanders to get online and learn new digital skills
- Digital innovation / technology hubs
- Mentoring schemes focused on supporting people looking to start a career in technology.
Grants of up to $5 million are available for digital infrastructure projects.
Grants of up to $1 million are available for non-infrastructure projects.
The total funding pool is $50 million. A co-contribution is not mandatory but will be viewed favourably.
For digital infrastructure projects, applicants must be either:
- a South-East Queensland local government
- a private sector entity (including for-profit businesses).
For non-infrastructure projects, applicants must be one of the following:
- a South-East Queensland local government
- a private sector entity (including for-profit businesses)
- a public sector entity, such as:
- Queensland Government statutory bodies
- Queensland Government owned corporations
- Queensland based universities
- Queensland based research institutes
- a not-for-profit entity
- a regional economic development organisations
- a chambers of commerce or a community service organisation.
Projects must be completed by 31 December 2028.
