Emma Brown is a Director in the Sydney Business Advisory division.

With experience across SMEs, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, Emma specialises in helping businesses achieve growth, strengthen financial performance, and plan for long-term success.

Her core expertise includes business and tax structuring advice, succession and estate planning, cash flow management.  By simplifying complex issues, Emma empowers businesses to make confident decisions that support their goals.

Emma’s work spans the preparation and analysis of financial statements, forecasting and budgeting, annual tax compliance, CGT concessions, and advisory support for business exits, acquisitions, and transitions. She is particularly well-regarded for her tailored strategies for small businesses, pharmacy groups, and private clients, where she delivers practical solutions that balance growth opportunities with risk management.

Having started her career at RSM as a Graduate Accountant in 2011, Emma understands the multi-disciplinary aspect of the firm and now enjoys mentoring and empowering the next generation of accountants. 

I am driven to simplify tax and compliance and provide my clients with the peace of mind and the freedom to focus on what matters most, whether that be growing their business or achieving their personal goals.  I combine my technical expertise with a strong client-centric approach to ensure the best outcomes for my clients.

Her client track record includes advising on the acquisition of multiple pharmacy businesses, managing due diligence, structuring, and ongoing KPI reviews to improve profitability. She has also guided clients through restructuring to improve tax efficiency and wealth protection, and advised on the sale of privately owned childcare centres, covering tax, commercial, and family wealth considerations.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time outdoors with her two young daughters and winding down with a good book.

SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS 

• Advising a company on a transition to a more appropriate business structure as the business outgrew its original structure, providing better wealth protection and optimising tax concessions available.
• Adviser to a privately owned group of childcare centres. This included assisting with the sale of the business, advising on the tax and commercial considerations, and assisting with the due diligence and tendering process
• Supported Cat & Claudia with the acquisition of their pharmacy businesses, including:
