Derek is a Business Advisory specialist who works closely with our China Practice Group helping many popular Chinese brands establish themselves and grow in Australia.

Derek collaborates with corporate and private equity clients to provide an early warning of issues that may affect values and purchase prices of a business, and identify any potential deal breakers.

Additionally, Derek provides guidance in navigating complex tax legislation, identifying the best structure for international High-Net-Worth family businesses and assists in foreign inbound investments in Australia. 

Derek has also worked with many high ranking Chinese brands and companies in setting-up their business in Australia. Furthermore, he continues his work remotely to increase their understanding of Australian tax laws, business models, cultural differences and everything in between.

Prior to joining RSM in 2018, Derek was a business services manager at a boutique accounting firm based in Sydney.

Derek is a night owl! He finds that he is at his best working late nights but enjoys playing and watching golf in his down time!
