The Emerging Technology Commercialisation Fund (ETCF) 2026 aims to support early-stage companies to commercialise innovative technologies in priority sectors.

The program aims to support early-stage companies to commercialise innovative technologies in priority sectors.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • Progress emerging technology innovations towards commercial deployment along the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) pathway.
  • Improve commercial viability and investment readiness.
  • Generate long-term economic benefits for NSW by scaling jobs and capabilities in
  • NSW in areas such as local manufacturing, housing, and net zero.
  • Technologies must be currently between TRL 3 (i.e. physical prototype or proof-of-concept) and TRL 7 (validated in a real-world environment, but still pre-commercial).

Grants of between $500k to $2 million are available.

The grant must be repaid in instalments, starting from the financial year in which the total earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation exceeds $500,000.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:

  • Be a for-profit entity.
  • Be headquartered in NSW.
  • Not be listed on any public stock exchange.
  • As of 1 January 2026, have more than 65% of their Full Time Equivalent Employees employed in NSW.
  • Have revenue of less than $2.5 million in the last financial year (2024/25).
  • Not be a subsidiary of another company.
  • Own the IP or have exclusive licence to commercialise the IP in Australia and globally.
  • Not be eligible for the NSW Medical Devices Fund.
