The NSW Medical Devices Fund offers grants of up to $5 million towards innovative devices and technologies.
The NSW Medical Devices Fund supports development and commercialisation of innovative medical devices and related technologies.
Funded projects must demonstrate the potential to:
- Improve patient care and/or health and wellbeing; and
- Deliver economic, social or environmental benefits to NSW.
For Round 14, applications are particularly encouraged from applicants with projects aligned to women’s health, female entrepreneurship and Aboriginal health.
Grants range between $500,000 and $5 million.
The grant must be repaid in instalments once a certain threshold of commercial success is reached.
Eligible organisations include public and private hospitals, medical research institutes, universities, start-ups and established small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
Applicants must be financially viable companies or commercial enterprises that are headquartered in NSW and are one of the following:
- Australian company with a turnover of less than $25 million; or
- An individual forming a company; or
- NSW public research organisation
Applicants must have an innovative medical device/technology at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or above and must not be owned by an international company or any other ineligible company.
