The Battery Breakthrough Initiative now open, offering grants between $2 million and $200 million.
This ARENA program is designed to enhance Australia’s battery manufacturing capability and support the commercialisation of battery manufacturing processes and technologies.
The program supports projects across three focus areas:
1. Production of active materials (e.g. cathode materials, anode materials, electrolytes);
2. Battery cell manufacturing; and
3. Battery pack assembly.
Grants of between $2 million and $200 million are available. The total funding pool is $500 million.
Grants must be matched by applicants at a 1:1 ratio.
Applicants must be:
• An Australian entity incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth); or
• A Commonwealth, State or Local Government entity.
Applications will close when funds are fully exhausted.
