The Battery Breakthrough Initiative is delivered by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), in collaboration with the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) as part of the federal government’s Future Made in Australia and National Battery Strategy agendas.
The program offers up to A$500 million in co‑funded grants (1:1 matched) for projects that boost Australia’s battery manufacturing capability—specifically targeting active materials, battery cell production, and pack assembly.
Applications will close when funds are fully exhausted.
