The program supports small to medium freight operators in transitioning to zero- and low-emissions freight transport by investing in cleaner vehicles, technologies and supporting infrastructure.
Eligible activities include:
- Buying or leasing low or zero‑emission freight vehicles;
- Vehicle fit‑outs / retrofits that customise new vehicles for specific freight tasks (e.g. refrigerated bodies, tail‑lifts or specialised equipment);
- Installing charging or refuelling infrastructure (e.g. electric chargers or depot upgrades);
- The cost of charging or refuelling new low or zero‑emissions vehicles;
- Adopting low‑carbon liquid fuels including renewable diesel or biodiesel;
- Trialling new technologies or innovative business ideas that reduce emissions; and
- Other projects that align with the program’s objectives and contribute to emissions reduction.
Grant funding of up to $300,000 is available.
Funding is available on a 1:5 cash contribution basis.
Eligible applicants must:
- Be small to medium freight operators (<200 FTE) that transport goods by road or rail;
- Be registered and operating in Victoria; and
- Be financially viable and not insolvent.
