The ReMade in Queensland Program – Round 1 offers grant funding between $50,000 and $2.5 million to QLD businesses seeking to manufacture products using recycled or waste materials.

Queensland-based manufacturing businesses with 5 - 200 FTE employees.

Grants of between $50,000 and $2.5 million are available (up to 50% of project costs).

Expression of Interest applications close on 19 February 2024.

The ReMade in Queensland (ReMIQ) Program supports Queensland small-to-medium enterprise (SME) manufacturers to:

Adopt state-of-the-art technologies and processes that use waste streams to manufacture a new or existing product line.

Integrate circular economy principles into manufacturing (e.g. waste reduction, recycled material inputs, designing for longevity).
Create high-skilled manufacturing jobs in Queensland.
Improve profitability and economic outputs.

ReMIQ particularly seeks to support purchase, installation, integration, commissioning, and associated costs of:

New advanced robotics, Industry 4.0 and/or Industry 5.0 equipment (e.g. automation of existing processes, digital connectivity, AI).
Planning and strategy development required for project (e.g. professional advice, decarbonisation strategy, waste management plan).

How much is available?

The total funding pool is $10 million. Grants of between $50,000 and $2.5 million are available, and cover up to 50% of project costs.

Who can apply for the ReMade in Queensland (ReMIQ) Program?

Queensland-based manufacturing businesses that:

Have 5 - 200 FTE employees (at least 5 FTE based in Queensland)
Plan to own grant-funded equipment

Additionally, applicants must propose a project that:

Has a Queensland project site;
Implements advanced robotics, Industry 4.0 or Industry 5.0 equipment, technology, systems or processes;
Utilises a commercially sustainable waste stream;
Enables manufacture of a market-ready product;
Utilises design principles and processes for continued recycling/remanufacture cycles; and
Can be completed within 12 months.

Note: Funding awarded to applicants and any associated entities cannot cumulatively exceed $2.5 million across ReMIQ and Rounds 1 – 6 of the Made in Queensland Program.
