The Grid Enhancing Technologies Grant offers funding of up to $5 million and is likely to be of interest to Network Service Providers and technology providers.
The Grid Enhancing Technologies program supports companies developing, trialling or applying grid enhancing technologies that improve the performance of existing electrical networks. Projects should aim to:
- Increase capacity, productivity and utilisation of current grid infrastructure
- Enable faster integration of renewable energy and reduce curtailment
- Address network congestion “black spots” and improve reliability, especially at grid edges
- Reduce or delay the need for new infrastructure, lowering energy bill costs and environmental impact
- Improve network visibility, control and resilience to bushfire, extreme weather, cyber threats and other system security
The program is ideal for companies working on solutions that boost grid efficiency, reduce energy costs and improve resilience to threats.
Grant funding of up to $5 million is available to cover up to 100% of eligible expenditure.
Applicants must have an ABN, be registered for GST, not be exempt from income tax and be one of the following:
- Entity incorporated in Australia
- University
- Publicly funded research organisation
- Commonwealth, state, territory or local government body (including government business enterprises).
Applications open 15 July 2025 and close 11 August 2025.
