Shanghai Offline Seminar: Helping Chinese enterprises to expand into Australia

On 26 May, a seminar on "Australia's investment climate, tax system and preferential policies" was hosted by RSM at the Shanghai office. This event is the first offline special session of RSM's "Chinese Enterprises Going Overseas" series, attracting many corporate customers and partners interested in the Australian market.

Mary Lai, Tax Partner and Head of the China Practice Group at RSM Australia, and Peter Xi, R&D Tax Partner, were invited to speak at the event, providing insightful and practical information on the investment establishment process, tax structure and Australian-specific R&D incentive policies. They also discussed Australia's tax support mechanism for technology-based enterprises, especially Australia's special tax incentives, and showed how enterprises can effectively reduce R&D costs through compliance declarations.

Li Yue combined her years of practical experience in serving Chinese enterprises to explain the whole process of company establishment and tax compliance in Australia, and pointed out the key matters that are often overlooked but crucial in cross-border operations, helping enterprises prepare for tax planning and risk control in advance.

Yang Jiazhi, a tax partner of Rongcheng, also presented to guests and conducted in-depth discussions with Australian partners on structure design, tax arrangements and cross-border coordination.
