It has been a full-on start to 2026 – how are things tracking along for you? 

Over the past six months, we’ve seen continued growth in AI, gradually reshaping how businesses operate and creating new opportunities to improve efficiency and allow business owners to focus on the key matters in their business. At the same time our senior leadership remains focused on our two key pillars, our valued clients and our dedicated people, recognizing that their ongoing engagement and success are fundamental to achieving sustainable growth and delivering meaningful outcomes.

The recent Federal Budget has also introduced some significant proposed changes, particularly around capital gains, trusts and business investment, which will be important considerations as we head into the new financial year.

To make your life just a little bit easier, we've put together some updated resources that our team thinks will help you build resilience and stay strong. We hope they provide some clarity and confidence as we face future challenges.

It has been a milestone period for our team, with a number of anniversaries and special moments to celebrate.

In January, Nathan Cox (Senior Accountant, Business Advisory) and Lachlan Quinlivan (Accountant, Business Advisory) both marked five years with RSM. Cameron Sloan (Senior Manager, Business Advisory) celebrated an impressive 15-year milestone in February. May marked two special anniversaries, with Tamara Jones celebrating 10 years of service, continuing to play a vital role in keeping the office running smoothly, and Kerryn Edwards reaching five years, where she is widely recognised as the team’s go-to for all things companies, trusts and ASIC.

We were also delighted to share in some wonderful personal milestones, with Chloe Fellows and her husband Anthony welcoming their daughter, Grace Amelia, in January, and Partner Ross Dixon and his wife Elle welcoming Penelope Violet in February. February also saw Roanne Gulpan join the Albury office. Based in Gosford, Roanne leads our remote team members located across the country, further strengthening our national connectivity. In March, we were excited to welcome back Renea Coote, with both the team and clients pleased to see her return.

In May, we had the pleasure of hosting RSM’s National Executive Committee in our boardroom. The visit included a team morning tea, where Chief Executive Partner Robert Miano shared updates on key developments across the firm.

Travis Connell Legacy Accounting Scholarship

RSM in Albury is proud to announce that Paige Nicholls-Bridgman has been awarded the 2026 Travis Connell Legacy Accounting Scholarship at Charles Sturt University. Paige joined RSM as an Undergraduate accountant in 2025 and is currently completing her accounting degree at CSU's Albury-Wodonga campus. Established in memory of our late Partner, Travis Connell, the scholarship recognises students who demonstrate perseverance, leadership, and a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact in their community. We congratulate Paige on this well-deserved achievement.

Our team has continued to prioritise meaningful community involvement across the region. 

In December, we proudly supported the Junction Support Services Annual Christmas Drive, helping bring joy and support to children and families who may otherwise have gone without during the festive season. To begin 2026, our Albury Impact Committee focused on supporting those affected by the recent fire emergency. In response to the evolving needs of our local communities, we contributed essential items to Albury Wodonga FoodShare, assisting individuals and families displaced by the ongoing bushfires.

In February, members of our team laced up for the SS&A City 2 City Run/Walk, travelling from Albury to Wodonga in support of a great cause. This year’s event raised an impressive $154,292, which will support rehabilitation and physical therapy services, as well as a professional development scholarship for allied health staff in honour of Dr Lucie Shanahan.

We also hosted a Superannuation and Estate Planning Seminar at Mantra Albury in February. Shaun La Motte from our Melbourne office joined Cody Keating to share insights on the proposed Division 296 tax and key estate planning considerations, providing valuable guidance to our local clients and community.
