It has been a full-on start to 2026 – how are things tracking along for you? 

Over the past six months, we’ve seen continued growth in AI, gradually reshaping how businesses operate and creating new opportunities to improve efficiency and allow business owners to focus on the key matters in their business. 

It is hard to believe that we are just weeks away from saying goodbye to another financial year. How time flies!

While the rain has tried to come and bring us winter, we are still enjoying some very beautiful spring days. We are sure the seasons will change soon, and the farmers can take a big deep breath.

Speaking of change, last month’s Federal Budget announced significant changes to our tax system. If you are concerned the changes may impact your succession plans or structuring arrangements, we encourage you to get in touch.

More locally, the Manjimup RSM team has had some significant staff changes this year, including a farewell to Sheryl Thompson after more than 43 years of helping clients in and around the Manjimup area. Sheryl will balance her last ledger and enter the world of retirement and baby-sitting duties at the end of the financial year.

To make your life just a little bit easier, we've put together some updated resources that our team thinks will help you build resilience and stay strong. We hope they provide some clarity and confidence as we face future challenges.

Over the past six months, our Manjimup office has experienced several staff changes. After seven and a half years, we bid farewell to Michelle Eames in March. In the same month, we were pleased to welcome Waldo Venter, who joined the team from South Australia.

We also wish to acknowledge the upcoming retirement of Sheryl Thompson in June. Sheryl has dedicated an incredible 43 years to providing accounting services to the Manjimup community and surrounding areas. Since joining RSM in 2019, she has been a valued member of our team, and we sincerely thank her for her significant contribution and commitment. We wish Sheryl all the very best in her retirement.

Over the past six months, the Manjimup office has remained actively engaged with both our clients and the wider community. 

We have hosted a series of Payday Super seminars, delivering hands-on, two-hour workshops designed to make the transition to Payday Super simple and stress-free. These practical sessions were held across Manjimup, Bridgetown and Boyup Brook, helping attendees stay compliant and avoid potential costly surprises.
In addition, the team has delivered multiple Xero workshops, supporting clients in building their confidence and capability with cloud accounting solutions.

The Manjimup team has also prioritised staying connected internally, enjoying several friendly pickleball afternoons together over recent months, fostering teamwork and a positive office culture.
