THE FULL ACCOUNT -

RSM's local newsletter.

It has been a full-on start to 2026 – how are things tracking along for you?

Over the past six months, we’ve seen continued growth in AI, gradually reshaping how businesses operate and creating new opportunities to improve efficiency and allow business owners to focus on the key matters in their business.

As we move through another season across the Wheatbelt, we are seeing a lot of uncertainty across the agricultural sector.

Fuel and fertiliser costs remain a major talking point, while seasonal conditions have varied across the state, impacting seeding plans. Ongoing impacts from the live export ban also remains a key concern.

After the recent Federal Budget, we have received a lot of questions about the proposed changes to the capital gains tax discount and how it could impact succession planning for farming families. EOFY is also fast approaching, adding to the pressure.

To make your life just a little bit easier, we've put together some updated resources that our team thinks will help you build resilience and stay strong. We hope they provide some clarity and confidence as we face future challenges.

Best regards,

The team at RSM in Northam

LOCAL TEAM NEWS

We are pleased to welcome Jen Sarre to the team as a Senior Accountant.

Jen joined RSM in February and brings with her a wealth of experience. Following her time in insolvency, Jen transitioned into finance broking, specialising in residential and commercial lending, as well as school bus to equipment finance. Through this role, she worked closely with a client base predominantly across the Wheatbelt region, helping clients make the most of their financial opportunities and achieve their goals. We are excited to have Jen onboard and look forward to the knowledge, experience and strong regional relationships she brings to the team and our clients.

We would also like to welcome Shelby Roberts back from maternity leave.

It’s wonderful to have Shelby return to the team, and we look forward to her continued contribution and reconnecting with clients and colleagues across the business.

A warm welcome as well to Kudzai Mavindidze and Vanessa Tourbin! Kudzai recently joined our Northam team, while Vanessa has started in Karratha. We are excited to have them on board and can’t wait to see the impact of their skills and enthusiasm in their respective offices.

Our Northam team has continued to stay actively involved in the local community through a range of events and initiatives over the past few months.

We were pleased to sponsor and support the AVAS and the Northam Motor Sport Festival, which continue to be fantastic community events that bring people together across the region.

The team has also attended two CRC events in Koorda and Toodyay, providing a great opportunity to connect with local businesses, community members and industry representatives across the Wheatbelt region.

As part of our ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we continue to volunteer with Juniper Aged Care. Supporting local aged care residents and spending time giving back to the community remains an important initiative for our team, and we value the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way.
