It has been a full-on start to 2026 – how are things tracking along for you? 

Ongoing global uncertainty, combined with recent Federal Budget announcements, have created a more complex landscape for many businesses and taxpayers. While headlines can often dominate attention, we’re pleased to be seeing strong positive momentum across our region. The team at RSM in Toowoomba

Our Toowoomba team has recently enjoyed a great balance of connection and development over recent months. 

In April, the team marked the end of the March quarter with a friendly game of mini golf, providing a welcome opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and spend some time together.

Earlier in March, members of our team joined colleagues from our Brisbane office for a collaborative workshop led by Jason McSperrin. The session delivered valuable insights into building strong client relationships while also strengthening connections across our broader team.

Our team has remained actively engaged with the local business community through events, networking and thought leadership. 

In May, we partnered with the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce to deliver the annual RSM Federal Budget Breakfast, welcoming 160 attendees. The event featured insights from lead speaker William Laird, alongside Mayor Geoff McDonald, Annette Scott from Darling Downs Health, and Professor Fabrizio Carmignani from UniSQ, providing valuable perspectives on the Budget’s impact at both a regional and national level.

Our office has also continued to build strong local connections through industry networking events. In April, Kirstie Jesshope and Emily Fry attended a Business@Dusk event hosted by Traction for Young People, gaining insight into the important work being done to support young people in the Toowoomba community. Earlier in March, Sarah Kelso and Lachlan Munro attended Business@Dusk hosted by Toowoomba Anglican School, where attendees heard about the school’s continued growth and its contribution to the local community.
