RSM's local newsletter.
It has been a full-on start to 2026 – how are things tracking along for you?
As we approach EOFY, it’s a timely opportunity to reflect on the past six months across Wagga and the broader region. While this time of year typically brings momentum, many local businesses have continued to face pressure from fuel and input costs, as well as tighter financing conditions.
Despite these challenges, we’ve seen strong resilience across our client base. The recent Federal Budget has also introduced some significant proposed changes, particularly around capital gains, trusts and business investment, which will be important considerations as we head into the new financial year.
To make your life just a little bit easier, we've put together some updated resources that our team thinks will help you build resilience and stay strong. We hope they provide some clarity and confidence as we face future challenges.
Best regards,
The team at RSM in Wagga Wagga
LOCAL TEAM NEWS
It has been a busy and exciting period for our Wagga team, marked by strong growth and some wonderful milestones.
We are delighted to welcome Erin Langfield, Brooklyn Crouch, Georgia Rutherford, Lucy Suthern, Bonte Amani, Darcy Manuel and Lucy O’Brien to the team, further strengthening our business advisory and restructuring & recovery services.
A special congratulations goes to Jennifer Willis, who recently celebrated 10 years with RSM, having joined as the first bookkeeper in the Wagga office and playing a key role in establishing the division. We also share very special personal milestones, with Matt Cerato and Roxanne welcoming baby Jack in February, and Matt Morrow and Bethany welcomed baby Marlowe in April.
Community involvement has remained a strong focus for our Wagga Wagga team throughout the first half of 2026.
In February, RSM was proud to sponsor the 134th Gundagai Show, celebrating the region’s long-standing agricultural traditions and strong community spirit. During the same month, we also supported the Riverina Ag Network Harvest Ball, contributing to the Rural Aid auction and helping raise vital funds for farmers and rural communities in need.
In May, our team once again came together to support Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising $1,780 for the Cancer Council and supporting cancer research and vital support services.
We also continued our ongoing support of the Pro Patria Centre, including sponsorship of the Honouring Service, Building Futures Dinner at Magpies Nest. Attended by more than 150 local community members and leaders, the event saw RSM proudly represented as we backed the important work the Centre does in supporting veterans and first responders.
