The Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program supports local Queensland organisations to upgrade sporting facilities, get more people active and build a lasting community legacy ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program supports local Queensland organisations to upgrade sporting facilities, get more people active and build a lasting community legacy ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Funding is available in two categories:

Category 1 – Field of Play

Focuses on smaller, community-level infrastructure projects that strengthen community participation and enhance the quality and accessibility of sporting facilities

Category 2 – Partnership Fund

Targets larger-scale, high-impact projects across precincts and multi-activity infrastructure, with expected significant co-contribution, typically involving Local Government as the lead applicant

Grant funding of up to $830,000 is available, depending on project location.

Eligible applicants include:

  • Not-for-profit local, regional or multiactivity sport or active recreation organisations
  • Queensland local government
  • An incorporated sport or active recreation State Level Organisation managing infrastructure or an affiliate organisation with infrastructure
  • A National Sport Organisation operating in Queensland under a governance model recognised by the Australian Sports Commission
  • A State-wide, multi-location sport and active recreation organisation, whose branches/sites are not separately incorporated
