RSM's local newsletter.
2025 is shaping up to be quite a roller coaster year.
With extreme weather events, trade wars, an election, and even a new pope, the news cycle has been relentless, making it challenging to keep track of important updates amidst the chaos.
For those of us living in regional Australia, it's tempting to tune it all out and enjoy the peace and quiet. To make it easier, the team here at Albury has hand picked some insights that we think you’ll find relevant.
As we draw closer to the end of the financial year, we find ourselves reflecting on the past six months at our Albury office.
From celebrating the well-deserved promotions of our dedicated staff, whose hard work and commitment have been pivotal in driving our success, to warmly welcoming new team members into our office, every moment has contributed to our growth. Our social club has been buzzing with excitement, fostering a sense of community among us, and we've hosted client events, which provided invaluable insights and opportunities to connect. We truly value these interactions, as they remind us of the importance of collaboration in achieving shared goals.
We would like to thank our network and clients for their support throughout 2025 so far, and look forward to continuing our work in the region and making a positive impact.
We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and find the contents useful and informative.
Best regards,
The team at RSM in Albury
LEADERSHIP CHANGES
This year has been a time of change, both for the world and for RSM Australia. On June 30, we bid goodbye to our Chief Executive Partner, Jamie O’Rourke.
Jamie began his career with RSM 34 years ago in the regional office of Goulburn before moving to Sydney in 1997. As our national leader for the past nine years, Jamie guided us through a period of significant growth and change, including managing the disruptions and challenges brought about by the pandemic. Throughout his tenure, he maintained and strengthened RSM’s strong presence in regional Australia, stating, “While we continue to grow across all areas, our regional footprint is unique and integral to our national identity.”
We are pleased to announce Robert Miano as our new Chief Executive Partner, effective July 1, 2025.
With over 25 years of experience in audit and corporate advisory work, Robert is well-equipped to lead RSM Australia into the future.

LOCAL TEAM NEWS
We are thrilled to announce some exciting changes within our team. First and foremost, congratulations are in order for Ross Dixon on his promotion to Partner!
We also offer a warm welcome to our new starters who joined us this past January and February: Gautam Singh, Ailish Good, Paige Nicholls-Bridgeman, Kimmy Hargraves, and Khushi Agarwal.
As we celebrate these new beginnings, we also bid farewell to valued colleagues Alex Andrews, Matilda Hutton, and Allie Johnson.
Finally, we are proud to recognise the achievements of our team members who have stepped into new roles. Tyler Roberson has been promoted to Accountant, Nathan Cox has advanced to Senior Accountant, and Alex Bond has taken on the position of Senior Manager. Their hard work and dedication have paved the way for this growth, and we couldn't be prouder.
We are also proud to announce that Adam Niksic has been nominated for two awards at the IFA Excellence Awards, representing the best in the financial planning industry. Meanwhile, we congratulate Campbell Simpson for 20 years of dedicated service in our SMSF team, celebrated with a morning tea in his honour.
Lastly, congratulations to Ross Dixon and Dom Stockdale on becoming Australian citizens, enriching our community since their arrival in 2019 and 2018, respectively.
In April, our local Impact Committee held a morning tea to honour ANZAC Day, reflecting on the bravery of young volunteers during WWI.
We shared inspiring stories and expressed our gratitude, especially to A Piece of Cake for their delicious ANZAC biscuits, a reminder of those sent to soldiers long ago. We also participated in the Walk for Autism challenge, with 11 teams stepping up to walk 7,000 steps a day. The funds we raise and the steps we take will help support Autistic Australians and their families at all life stages.
Our Social Club created memorable experiences with summer Sol Padel evenings, afterwork drinks at DUX, and a delightful Easter celebration filled with family fun. Our team also actively participated in the Nail Can Hill Community Run, happily sponsoring the Corporate Challenge as part of this annual event organised by the Rotary Club of Albury West, with proceeds supporting a local charity.
