RSM's local newsletter.

2025 is shaping up to be quite a roller coaster year.

With extreme weather events, trade wars, an election, and even a new pope, the news cycle has been relentless, making it challenging to keep track of important updates amidst the chaos.

For those of us living in regional Australia, it's tempting to tune it all out and enjoy the peace and quiet. To make it easier, the team here at Esperance has hand picked some insights that we think you’ll find relevant.

With the financial year now behind us, we've taken a moment to reflect on the past six months at our Esperance office.

We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and find the contents useful and informative.

Best regards,

The team at RSM in Esperance

LEADERSHIP CHANGES

This year has been a time of change, both for the world and for RSM Australia. On June 30, we bid goodbye to our Chief Executive Partner, Jamie O’Rourke.

Jamie began his career with RSM 34 years ago in the regional office of Goulburn before moving to Sydney in 1997. As our national leader for the past nine years, Jamie guided us through a period of significant growth and change, including managing the disruptions and challenges brought about by the pandemic. Throughout his tenure, he maintained and strengthened RSM’s strong presence in regional Australia, stating, “While we continue to grow across all areas, our regional footprint is unique and integral to our national identity.”

We are pleased to announce Robert Miano as our new Chief Executive Partner, effective July 1, 2025.

With over 25 years of experience in audit and corporate advisory work, Robert is well-equipped to lead RSM Australia into the future.

  • Sharon Baldwin | Toowoomba, Business Advisory
  • Amanda Beckhouse | Wagga Wagga, Business Advisory
  • Ross Dixon | Albury, Business Advisory
  • Kara Golding | Geraldton, Business Advisory
  • Reagan Manns | Moora/Jurien Bay, Business Advisory

LOCAL TEAM NEWS

Firstly, we are thrilled to welcome Ben Piercey to the RSM team in Esperance.

In other exciting news, Samantha Tait recently took the stage in the Esperance Theatre Guild's production of Clue On Stage, where she shone as the mysterious Mrs. White. She delivered a truly remarkable performance!

Our team also had a fantastic experience at the RSM Business Advisory Conference in early March. We explored the latest updates in tax, superannuation, and reporting, all while reconnecting with our accounting colleagues from across WA.
