The Future Drought Fund: Drought Resilience Innovation Challenges Pilot Program is now open, offering grants of up to $2 million.
This program supports projects that help farmers adopt innovative, sustainable practices and technologies to strengthen their drought resilience.
Projects must respond to one or more of the following challenges:
1. Advancing natural capital and biodiversity for drought preparedness and resilience
2. Innovating water management for enhanced drought resilience in Australian agriculture
3. National innovation for enhancing community resilience to drought in Australian agricultural regions
Grants of up to $2 million are available.
Co-contributions (cash or in-kind) are not mandatory but will be viewed favourably.
All applications must be submitted by a consortium, which must include at least one farmer or farmer-led research/extension organisation.
The lead applicant must be an Australian-based legal entity such as a company, cooperative, incorporated association, Indigenous corporation, or local government.
Applications close 9:00 pm AEDT, 22 October 2025.
