Australian small and medium-sized manufacturers looking to invest in equipment, technology or process improvements that reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency and support the transition to lower-carbon operations.

The SME Industrial Decarbonisation Fund assists small and medium-sized Australian manufacturers to reduce their direct greenhouse gas emissions by transitioning from fossil fuel-powered processes to electric alternatives.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Funding is available to support businesses in upgrading or replacing equipment and processes, training employees, achieving updated certifications or compliance requirements, and sharing lessons learned and successful outcomes with the broader manufacturing sector through knowledge-sharing activities.
The Fund focuses on three priority areas:
- Surface Treatment – including, but not limited to, powder coating, galvanising and metallic finishing processes.
- Process Steam – including, but not limited to, sterilisation, drying and cooking applications.
- Metals Processing – including, but not limited to, the fabrication, refinement, transformation and extraction of metals.
Projects must demonstrate a clear pathway to commercial viability and deliver measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
Grants of between $400,000 and $1 million are available, covering up to 50% of eligible project costs.
The total funding pool is $10 million.
Applicants must hold an ABN and an ACN and must be an SME (with up to 200 employees).
