RSM's local newsletter.

It has been a full-on start to 2026 – how are things tracking along for you?

Over the past six months, we’ve seen continued growth in AI, gradually reshaping how businesses operate and creating new opportunities to improve efficiency and allow business owners to focus on the key matters in their business.

The past six months at RSM in Katanning have been full of excitement and change.

We were thrilled to welcome Alesha and Kaspar to the team, and we're looking forward to the growth and client support they'll bring. With EOFY almost upon us, we've been deep in tax planning conversations and helping clients prepare for the introduction of Payday Super. Beyond June, we're genuinely excited about what technology and automation can do for regional businesses like yours. As always, we're grateful for the trust our clients, colleagues and community place in us, and we hope a bit of that good rain keeps coming.

To make your life just a little bit easier, we've put together some updated resources that our team thinks will help you build resilience and stay strong. We hope they provide some clarity and confidence as we face future challenges.

Best regards,

The team at RSM in Katanning

LOCAL TEAM NEWS

We are thrilled to announce that Amber from our Katanning office has achieved outstanding results in her Financial Accounting and Reporting unit, earning an impressive 100% in the exam and an overall grade of 94%.

We are also delighted to welcome Kaspar Callum, who will be joining our Katanning office. Kaspar is passionate about building his career in regional Australia and is excited about the variety of work, opportunities for growth, and strong sense of community that regional practice offers. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball and being actively involved in community activities.

We’re delighted to share that Marie Van Blommestein has been promoted to Partner, effective 1 July 2026. A valued leader within our Katanning Business Advisory team, Marie has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to her clients, colleagues and community. Her promotion reflects both her outstanding contribution to the firm and the strength of leadership within our regional offices.

Alesha and Leana from our Katanning office recently delivered a highly successful series of workshops across Katanning, Newdegate, Wellstead and Tambellup.

The sessions covered key updates on Payday Super, including what the changes mean for businesses, how to prepare payroll systems, and how to avoid unexpected costs in the future.

It was fantastic to see strong engagement from local businesses, with many gaining a clearer understanding of the changes and feeling more confident about what lies ahead.
