Director - Canberra
Charlene Butler is a Director in our Business Advisory Division in Canberra, specialising in Real Estate and Construction.
Charlene specialises in supporting small to medium businesses and property-focused clients with accounting and tax advice. Known for delivering clear, practical advice, she works closely with clients to build confidence, improve financial performance, and support long-term growth.
Prior to joining RSM, Charlene was the founder and owner of a boutique accounting and tax advisory firm, which she successfully led for 12 years. The firm focused on supporting SMEs and high-net-worth clients, delivering tailored advice and building strong, long-term relationships.
In 2022, Charlene relocated to Australia from South Africa and has since held senior roles within boutique accounting firms, leading teams and managing diverse client portfolios. Charlene’s focus remains on providing proactive, commercially relevant advice and maintaining trusted client partnerships.
Charlene works with business owners who want more than compliance, they want clarity, confidence and proactive advice. Clients often seek support to better understand their numbers, manage cash flow, stay compliant and make informed decisions during periods of growth.
Charlene’s approach is hands-on and forward-looking, helping clients stay organised, identify risks early and implement the right systems and processes to support sustainable success. She is particularly passionate about helping businesses grow from early-stage operations into strong, established enterprises.
Outside of work, Charlene enjoys spending time in nature, whether camping or exploring the outdoors, and values creating meaningful time with family and friends.
