Alex Driscoll is a Manager in the Business Advisory division in Ballarat, working with regional and middle market SMEs across a range of industries, with a particular focus on agribusiness and small business.

With experience in accounting, taxation and business advisory, he helps business owners navigate day-to-day financial management, restructuring, succession planning and growth opportunities. Alex is known for translating complex tax and accounting matters into practical advice that clients can confidently act on.

Drawing on his regional background, he understands the challenges faced by local businesses and works closely with clients to improve financial outcomes, support informed decision-making and position their businesses for long-term success.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time gold panning, metal detecting and fishing with his dad. He also has a keen interest in alternative investments, including gold, trading cards and cryptocurrency, and enjoys collecting trading cards in his spare time.

SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS

Alex developed cost base tracking mechanisms for two separate property developments involving more than 1,000 individual properties. The systems improved the accuracy of cost allocation and reporting, providing clients with reliable information to support ongoing tax compliance and future transactions.
He assisted a farming client with the sale of their farmland by applying the small business CGT concessions. This eliminated the client's capital gains tax liability, allowing them to retire while preserving more of their wealth for the next stage of their lives.
Alex has also managed the transition of several multi-million-dollar businesses to new cloud accounting platforms without disrupting their day-to-day operations. By carefully planning and overseeing each implementation, he helped clients improve reporting processes while maintaining business continuity.
In addition, he has advised clients on restructuring using the Small Business Restructure Rollover provisions. These projects simplified business structures, improved operational efficiency and created more appropriate foundations for future growth.
