Amit is a Partner in our Audit and Assurance division and is based in our Perth office.

Amit holds significant commercial experience, having led the corporate finance function as Senior Executive at Synergy, an energy generator, and retailer.

Amit has also held the title of Executive Director and has spent over 15 years providing audit and assurance services to Australian and international clients, specialising in large government trading enterprises and not-for-profit companies across the finance, insurance, and energy sectors.

Amit is known for his questioning approach, if you tell him it cannot be done, he will always approach it with a 'why not' attitude.

Amit considers himself a nerd when it comes to debits and credits and will not hesitate to teach accounting principles to non-financial people. He is a West Coast Eagles supporter, but when it comes to cricket, his heart still lies with India.

In his role as the Group Financial Controller, Amit has:

Led a multi-year cost optimisation program as part of the corporate strategy implementation at Synergy, resulting in a cost reduction of 10% over three years.
Established a finance business partner model at Synergy, leading to efficient and effective service delivery to operational business units and supporting strategic initiatives.
Achieved the best practice nomination for statutory reporting for three years in a row from the WA Office of the Auditor General (OAG).
Implemented SAP ERP, on time and under budget.
Audit and Assurance Services in Perth

In his role as an advisor, Amit has:

Assessed business case and due diligence for a leading Australian health insurance fund's merger, to create a combined entity with turnover exceeding A$2 billion.
Assisted an insurer with the evaluation of competing offers for sale of their general insurance business through to finalisation of sale agreement. This involved evaluating the best offer, advising on the tax implications and accounting treatment.
Due diligence for an ASX listed building society's acquisition of a Credit Society for A$200 million resulting in a combined lending portfolio exceeding A$3 billion.
Assisted a leading Australian bank in streamlining and improving efficiency in the process for collections and recoveries of overdue lending portfolio of A$200 million.
Due diligence for an ASX listed telecommunications company to successfully acquire operations of another service provider for A$20 million.
