Bryce Martin
Senior Manager - Ballarat

Bryce Martin is a Senior Manager in the Audit & Assurance division at RSM in Ballarat.

With more than 20 years of experience as a career auditor, he helps organisations strengthen their financial reporting, governance and compliance frameworks. His clients include government departments, large corporates, middle market businesses, and regional SMEs.

Bryce enjoys providing the clarity and confidence they need to meet their statutory obligations while improving long-term systems and controls. Before joining RSM, Bryce spent seven years at the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office, focusing on financial audits in the health and education portfolios. This gave him a strong understanding of large, complex organisations and the demands of highly regulated industries. Earlier, he spent 11 years with a mid-tier accounting firm in regional Victoria, working closely with businesses of all sizes. This background has given Bryce a unique perspective. He understands the different challenges faced by government, large corporates, and regional SMEs, and tailors his advice to meet each client’s needs.

A key part of Bryce’s work involves supporting Australian-based Significant Global Entities (SGEs) with overseas ownership. He has worked with manufacturing, production, and property investment businesses to help them meet their Australian financial reporting and audit obligations. His approach combines technical precision with practical solutions. Bryce ensures compliance with local accounting standards, while also helping clients align with the expectations of global parent companies. Beyond compliance, he guides organisations in strengthening governance, improving internal controls, and building financial systems that support sustainable growth.

"What I enjoy most about my role is the variety, every client brings unique challenges and goals, which keeps my work dynamic and rewarding."

One of Bryce’s most significant projects involved a listed aquaculture company that was moving from legacy external auditors to best-practice financial management. This was a complex and sensitive transition. Bryce advised on improvements to internal controls, supported compliance with accounting standards, and recommended stronger corporate governance processes. His guidance gave the company more than a smooth transition. It provided a stronger foundation for growth, boosted investor confidence, and supported the business through a period of industry change.Image removed.

In another engagement, Bryce worked with four Australian subsidiaries of a U.S.-based parent company as they prepared their records under Australian International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS) for the first time. He identified and recommended internal controls suited to their operations, helping management teams improve financial governance. Bryce also guided them through their first external audit, step by step. The outcome was a smooth and successful audit, financial records that complied with both local and global standards, and a stronger platform for long-term compliance in the Australian market.

Bryce enjoys the variety his role brings. Every client is different, with unique challenges and goals. Some are focused on compliance, while others want to improve efficiency or governance. Bryce takes the time to understand these priorities and provides advice that is both technically sound and practical. His expertise includes financial reporting, improvements to systems and processes, and assessment of management controls. By focusing on both the immediate audit and longer-term improvements, he helps clients build confidence and resilience.

Clients value Bryce’s approachable and pragmatic style. They know they can rely on him for clear advice, even in complex situations. He builds strong relationships and tailors his approach so that each organisation receives guidance that fits its circumstances. This combination of technical expertise and practical understanding makes him a trusted advisor to clients across government, corporate, and regional sectors.

Outside of work, Bryce is a sports enthusiast. He is an avid follower of both football and cricket and enjoys running in his spare time. He is always planning his next half marathon, reflecting the discipline and focus he also brings to his professional work.
